Next on the adventure along the shelves was The Weekend Chef by Angela Hartnett. Angela is one of the UK’s most amazing chefs. She started with Gordon Ramsay. We ate her food at the Connaught years ago, and I’ve loved going back to her Cafe Murano, though we’ve not yet made it to Murano – her restaurant in Mayfair, London. First up was Roasted Lamb Shoulder with Tomatoes which we served with a fantastic Asian Slaw (cabbage, onions, apples, jalapeno and Asian dressing) and Roasted Peppers (with garlic, anchovies, sherry vinegar and olive oil). The combination was superb. Angela has a Spaghetti Carbonara, which could be considered controversial as it contains garlic and chilli flakes. A classic carbonara it was not; delicious, it most definitely was. Last recipe of the week was Osso Bucco With Rissoto Milanese (and Mashed Potatoes for our daughter). This was just perfect, a classic combination but truly delicicous.
