This week we’ve been with Franck Dangereux and his book Feast. We got the book on our honeymoon in South Africa having just eaten at La Colombe, a beautiful restaurant on the outskirts of Cape Town within the Silvermist wine Estate. The book is beautiful, arranged by season and then each season is split into home and restaurant with appropriate recipes for each.
We went with Crispy Baguette rounds with Rocket, Red Onion, Tomato and Anchovy as a little starter Saturday lunch which were delightful, easy and super tasty.
For dinner later in the week we went with Fresh tomato Feuillette with Aubergine,Parmesan and Basil Cream which looked pretty good, tasted better and was dead easy for a recipe in the restaurant side of the book. We served it with Chickpea Salad – which made rather a lot and lasted well into the week.
This book brought back some lovely memories of South Africa and was some pretty lovely food. The book made tasty food, beautifully presentrd in copious quantities which summed up my eating memories of South Africa perfectly.
