Cedar Planked Salmon with Greek Shrimp and Orzo Salad

The Big Green Egg Cookbook. In our home, a few cooking gadgets would be replaced immediately if they broke; I am thinking of Thermomix and our KitchenAid stand mixer. The Big Green Egg stands alongside those monsters of kitchen gadgetry! The big green egg is a versatile outdoor ceramic grill and smoker. The ceramic construction of the Big Green Egg allows for excellent heat retention and precise temperature control, making it a stellar barbecue. I think we bought this cookbook with the egg and have used it over the years for inspiration and guidance for cooking temperatures. We’ve done a few recipes Firstly, we cooked the Cedar Planked Salmon with Honey Glaze. The combo of the Salmon and a smokey flavour imparted from the cedar is fab. The honey and mustard glaze was a touch firey, but overall, the dish was really tasty. We had it with our brother and sister-in-law, who are pescaterians. Alongside the salmon, we did Greek Shrimp and Orzo Salad. This was a cracking recipe which really would work without a barbecue. The prawns are grilled on the barbecue and then combined with cooked orzo, artichokes, onions, peppers, tomatoes, feta and a zesty dressing. It was delicious but made enough for an army.
