Real Food by Nigel Slater is the first of the books I got by Nigel Slater. It’s a book that we return to every so often because it is really good – reql food. A couple of delicious Salmon recipes. First up was the brilliant Salmon with Sherry Vinegar and Capers. The rich salmon and salty capers combined with the acid sherry vinegar was perfect with some simple vegetables. Next up was “A refreshing salsa for pan-fried fish”. Again we used salmon, and this little salsa was lovely to lift a simple weekday pan-fried fish dish to something more special. Last up was the Shish Kebab with Mint and Pitta, a beautiful marinated grilled lamb in a pitta. Real Food is a classic of delicious every night of the week cooking by a man who really understands food and writing – he’s a joy to read!
