This week was The Borough Market Cookbook by Borough Market with Ed Smith. Borough market is a food market in London and is a foodie paradise. There are stalls of every epicurean option you could ever want whether to buy there and cook at home or loads of stalls serving everything from fish and chips to Raclette on potatoes. The book covers the life of the market, the people who are there and their recipes. It has a truly brilliant Yorkshire pudding recipe which has become our go-to option. The week started with the rather wonderful Parsnip, Pork and Pear Traybake. We added some carrots into the mix as our kids don’t like parsnips. This was delicious and the pears really lifted the dish. Next up was
Cod, Smoked Haddock and Romanesco Bake (we substituted Romanesco with broccoli). This was a fantastic mid-week supper and one that we’ll do again. Last up was Toad in the Hole with Lardon Gravy which was a lovely change and super tasty.
