Our book this week was “The Real Taste of Spain by Jenny Chandler”. I’ve been pretty busy of late, and the ability to do multiple recipes a week has been a bit of a struggle, as has been posting regularly. New year, i’m going to get my act together – hopefully. For Sunday morning breakfast, we managed to make a batch of the wonderful Magdalenas. These are the Spanish equivalent of Madelines. These were with a hint of lemon. They were lovely and were a nice treat for breakfast.

The book is a beautiful book that is a love affair with Spanish cooking. The Gambas Pil Pil recipe is fabulous; no photos of it, but essentially it is garlic, smoked sweet paprika and prawns (some chilli if you feel like it) cooked in olive oil. Serve it with some crusty bread and be in heaven. Next week we will stay in Spain, but it goes a little more scientific.
