This week’s book Amalfi Coast by Katie and Giancarlo Caldessi. Sunday Lunch was Pollo al Limone which we all agreed was the best lemon chicken we’ve cooked. We paired it with Enza’s Fried Potatoes, which were a bit of a disaster. I chose Marris Piper potatoes which was the wrong choice – Charlotte or Yukon gold would have been better. Finocchio al Forno Con Timo – a delicious roasted fennel recipe, Zucchine Scapece – sautéed courgettes with mint and vinegar and then the fantastic Tiramisu Fragole & Limone – a strawberry and lemon tiramisu!
We had Cannelloni with meat and ricotta with a tomato sauce during the week. It was delicious and wasn’t too much hassle. We are big pancake fans in our house, so the Crespelle Ravellesi was an absolute must-try. Essentially it was pancakes with ham, ricotta and other cheeses, which were then baked. It was tasty, but I think the gang prefer their pancakes with lemon and sugar or Nutella on reflection. The last recipe of the week was Pollo Alla Cacciatora – hunters chicken. We did Jamie Oliver’s Italy recipe for this, and it was a hit; this incarnation wasn’t as good. Overall, the trip to the Amalfi coast was a good one. Next week we are still in the Mediterranean but are heading for the Tapas of Spain.
