This week’s book was Great British Bake Off: Love to Bake by Paul Hollywood, Prue Leith and the bakers. This is a book I got for my birthday last year (after an extensive period of watching Bake Off as a family). I thought that the book might be a touch intimidating – some of the bakes on Bake Off are very advanced, so I was a bit nervous undertaking something from it. So when choosing a recipe, I thought I’d head to well trodden baking territory with Sticky Toffee Pudding. I have to say the recipe was really straight-forward and was excellent. What was great about it was it had just a little chocolate in the sauce and a little cocoa in the cake mixture. We served it with the ice cream we made a couple of weeks ago – a custard ice cream.
