This week’s book was The Book of Sushi. This isn’t really a cookbook per se but more of a guide to sushi. The book talks about the history, the technique, the different types, different accompaniments and is a wonderful book that we’ve had for many years. There are, however, only two recipes in the book: sushi rice and sushi omelette (Tamagoyaki)- so we did both of those and augmented with recipes from Tim Anderson’s Japaneasy. The image you see before you shows our daughter’s Nigiri sushi (Salmon, Tuna and Prawns), Tamagoyaki Sushi, California rolls, Sashimi, Chicken and Spring Onion Yakitori, Karaage chicken, and Sweet soy and stout-braised pork belly. All washed down with a little Sake and Asahi Beer. It was a fun evening. Next week we head back to Italy.
